Jan 21.
We were home now. We had all morning and most of the afternoon until Song and her three youngest kids arrived. It was the first day of Eli's weekend, so we slept in as late as possible. Eli got up and took the baby so I could get a little extra sleep. I had been up and down with the baby all night. He did well, but he was just so tiny and new....he was awake for a great deal of the night. Not fussy, just awake. I stayed up for most of the night just staring at him.
At some point during the day, Eli's Auntie Barb had called and said she was bringing dinner over for us all (Song and the kids included) and Seth (her son, and Eli's oldest friend). Song and the kids arrived in the afternoon, Barb, Seth and Eli's parents arrived a couple hours after that. We had a great time. I felt really good! Not at all like I had just had a baby. Martyn was wonderful. He definitely got passed around.
Early in the day, my second apprentice Nicole came by for the day after birth post-pardum home visit. It was great to see her and she gave both Martyn and I a good bill of health. I told her I could hardly believe I just had a baby the day before...other than being tired, and my bottom was kind of sore, I felt great! I had one small tear, I forgot to mention that in the birth story....but it was very small and didn't even require stitching at all. But still, she wanted to make sure I was feeling ok "down town" too. I was fine.
I had Song cut his little finger nails because I was afraid to.
Everyone left, Song and the kids went to bed, and we had completed the first day home with the boy. His second day.
